The government in Cuba has resorted to using shipping containers and converting them into homes with a comprehensive plan for a number of families across the island to inhabit them.
Cuban authorities have argued that recycling containers for housing is a common practice worldwide however elsewhere these containers-turned-homes are dedicated to well-equipped and air-conditioned tourist facilities. Cuba though is a country without reliable electricity.
