Global BESS Knowledge Hub – A digital platform for data, insights, and resources on BESS, where partners can both access and contribute knowledge. Regional Technical Assistance Pools – Joint funding from GEAPP and partners to advance projects, policies, and business models, building a 5 GW pipeline across consortium countries.
A national BESS Task Force has also been established to develop policy and regulatory frameworks. Advising the electricity regulatory body on drafting BESS-related policies and procurement guidelines. First competitive procurement for 60 MW of BESS launched in May 2025, with a broader goal of 150 MW by 2026.
This discrepancy complicates the alignment of supply with demand, and periods of low sunlight hinder consistent access to power for households and businesses. Effective energy storage solutions bridge this gap between supply and demand.
